Dense 15oz sq/yd and 15oz natural rubber heat pressed and needle punched to a compact but comfortable 1/8" pile. Natural rubber provides a secure surface to counter any slipping hazards while the heat pressed felt fibers lock with the rug's backing and together it stops the rug from shifting or buching and wrinkling. The pad will catch any dirt or contaminants that fall through the rug to stop them from reaching the floor and working into the floor's finish when the rug shifts.
